Life is basically a number of often non related events that come together and start making bit of sense.
Therefore it is foolish to give too much importance to one single event that takes place, the "one thing" that changes your life because you can only know about it in hindsight but never in the present. Life and destiny make interesting companions, if life is a sequence of what appears to be mostly random events but which suddenly make sense after a while, then isn't that what destiny really is - the thing that connects all of these events?
The luxury of hindsight in life is often a beautiful venom. The venom that can make everything in life appear so magical and clear yet never really helping when needed in the present. It is therefore important to not plan too much about what is going to happen (usually life doesn't really unfold the way you imagine it to be) but remain focused in the present because what you do right now can and will influence the supposed future whenever it arrives.
Another wonderful and equally funny aspect about life is worry. A state of worry usually involves perceived scenarios of what may happen or not but you can bet on one thing for sure - worrying robs precious minutes from the game of life and diverts one's natural abilities to other things namely fear and nervousness both of which only need to be present in the smallest amount possible, never a drop more. A bit of worry acts like a coach who drives you harder to be your best but it is important to never give total control to this coach.
Finally the zen saying of "Things appear as we are and not as they are" rings true in every sense when you see life as only a series of events that look often chaotic but with a definite pattern when looked upon in hindsight. If life consists of way we see events and how they affect us, is it not possible to change ourselves so that life too changes accordingly?
Peace.

System crash!
Recently we had a server crash at our work place and it took 3 hours to get everything back.
Worst thing was that the email server was totally unresponsive and as a result emails were not getting delivered.
The usual backup for emails (we use Outlook for email stuff) was just taken but everyone had to log off their systems too get the backup working, was good for me as a welcome break :)
Kudos to those IT folks though who were working really hard, must have been stressful.

Oxis's lipid soluble antioxidant compounds are 20-40 times more effective than Vitamin E and combat disorders like Alzheimers and Parkinsons.
Products offered by Oxis deal with oxidative stress which increases with age and is caused when imbalanced activities of oxygen and nitrogen produced along with free radical increase and bypass body's natural defense mechanism. So these products in a way help in anti aging by keeping oxidative stress in check.

Within or outside?
Should one look outside or within to find enlightenment?
There was a person who wanted to attain enlightenment. So he goes to the nearest spiritual guru to get help.
The wise guru asks him to meditate daily and suggests that he ask himself one question : Who am I?
The person finds this ridiculously simple and of no real value so he tries another more famous guru.
This guru urges him to stay in his abode and carry out his daily chores in exchange for showing him the path to enlightenment.
This makes sense and so the fellow becomes the disciple carrying out all tasks menial or not for the guru.
5 years pass and still the fellow is nowhere close to enlightenment.
Frustrated and bitter,he approaches the guru to know the path to enlightenment.
The advise he receives is to meditate daily and ask himself the following question : Who am I?
So are you that person? :)
Cheers.

Superficial
In order to get something, one should act nice and appear friendly.
Behave well and appear professional if you want the job, always act like a fun and interesting guy/girl to be with when on a date,be courteous to everyone,be a go to person etc etc.
Ever realized that in doing any of the above, the actual nature within us is getting compromised?
It is getting replaced by superficial protocols that we are taught to follow in order to get what we need.
What is it that makes our free souls follow a set of guidelines/a structure which sometimes diverges from what we really want to do?
Is it not better to remain alone and keep your opinions to yourself instead of being the friendly guy who usually agrees to everyone and everything in order to fit in socially?
Living in a tower and keeping your mental clarity intact or following the norm and giving up on being a free thinker - it is our call.
Live well, live clean and live free.
Cheers.

Mind
Eckhart Tolle in his book Power of Now describes this classic wisdom :
Identification with the mind gives it more energy, observation of the mind withdraws energy from it.Identification with mind creates more time, observation of the mind opens up the dimension of the timeless. The energy that is withdrawn from mind turns into presence.
The above is precisely the reason we feel in sync at times/in the zone where there is no fear,no greed,no doubts only carefree beings - us.
Notice how we seem to "snap out" of it the moment we start thinking about what is going on.
Scientifically, our brain waves vary in amplitude and wavelengths. It is these varying waves that govern what we feel,we hear,we perceive.
Altering the brainwaves is possible through simple meditation. The following article describes what happens to brain during meditation.
This reminds me of the Zen quote - Nature is simple but man prefers the complex and intricate.
Peace.

Greed and fear
Throat dries up,heart rate increases,we start to imagine the worst and for a while the rational component within us goes for a vacation.
That is fear.
Throat dries up,heart rate increases,we start to imagine the best we can have and for a while the rational component within us goes for a vacation.
That is the extreme cousin of fear - greed.
These two make us do things which we don't want to do,simply because the rationality deserts us for that small moment and clarity leaves us.
Balance is what is needed to keep them in check,in harmony with each other like yin and yang.
That is what is difficult to do but then most good things in life are difficult to do.
So which is more powerful - greed or fear?
Peace.
